GARIBALDI LAKE
19 km | 980 m
Garibaldi Lake is famous and incredibly popular among hikers and the adventure still remains on our bucket list. It’s too long to do during school drop off and pick up and we just haven’t found a weekend or summer day to complete it.
The main trail from the Garibaldi trail head is busy and apparently quite boring, filled with gravelly switch backs. A friend says “you can push a stroller up there if you want”
For an extra km and a bit of elevation gain, make it into a loop and add Taylor Meadows to your adventure.
Panorama Ridge
30 km | 1,600 m
For the best best view of the lake, head up to Panorama Ridge. The climb is definitely worth it.
You can also access Panorama Ridge via Helm Creek for about the same distance and elevation. This way is less busy and the trail is apparently more exciting.
If you have time to drop a car and do it as a destination hike, complete the Helm Creek Traverse from Cheakamus to Garibaldi.
Mount Price
27 km | 1,600 m
Mount Price sits opposite of Panorama Ridge providing similar views of the Lake. This is a less busy, but not as well marked or maintained option.
