VALLEY OF FIRE
If you’re flying into Vegas and headed to Zion National Park, you must stop at the Valley of Fire State Park along the way.
The Park is located approximately 1 hour northeast of Vegas and is Nevada's oldest and largest state park, encompassing nearly 46,000 acres of vivid red sandstone formations, ancient petroglyphs, and diverse desert landscapes. Named for its fiery red rocks that appear to blaze under the sun, the park offers a rich tapestry of geological wonders and cultural history.
Our plan was to hike the Fire Wave, White Domes and Seven Wonders Loop, but we didn’t realize that this trail is closed annually from mid May to the beginning of October due to extreme heat and the safety of visitors.
As a result we just wondered around the park taking in the views instead.
